Vital
Earth Resources was founded in 1983 by Buck
Hammer and Eric Eweson, inventor of the
Eweson In-Vessel Composting System. Pioneering
in the composting industry for several decades
previously, this team envisioned a composting
plant producing the highest quality, most
consistent, nutrient loaded compost in the
market. Vital Earth was founded to promote
and broaden uses for compost products in
the horticultural and landscape industries.
We developed a full line of university tested
grower soil blends for all areas of horticultural
growing. Many hundreds of Texas growers
have discovered the Vital Earth difference
(the addition of high quality compost to
all our soil blends). Vital Earth continues
to be a leader in the continuing advancement
of horticultural soil products that incorporate
composting's best technology with the recycling
of valuable raw materials into the finest
growing medias available. Vital Earth products
are Earth Safe and give the home gardener
as well as the professional grower or landscape
contractor the edge they are looking for
in every growing situation.

In
1992, Vital Earth Resources Inc. acquired
a legendary Texas fertilizer manufacturer,
Carl Pool Products. Carl Pool celebrated
its 52nd anniversary in 1997. Over those
fifty-plus years Carl Pool developed a reputation
for superior high quality fertilizers. Carl
Pool has historically been a leader in innovative
fertilizer formulations with many firsts
in the water soluble fertilizer field. Product
development and improvement have been an
integral part of the success of Carl Pool
over the years. What makes Carl Pool products
different? We don't cut corners, never have,
never will. We gather the finest raw ingredients
from around the world to produce products
that deliver full performance, live up to
your expectations, and are fully guaranteed.
Whether
you need soil mixes or fertilizers, you
can count on Vital Earth and Carl Pool to

Composting
Process Steps
|
| 1. |
The
raw material is unloaded from
semi-trailers at the tipping dock
with our trailer tipper. |
| 2. |
The
raw material is stored in windrows
until it has reached the compost
activation state. |
| 3. |
The
raw material is moved to the loading
dock and ram-fed into the digester. |
| 4. |
The
material ages and decomposes at
an accelerated rate in the digester
for a period of three to five
days. |
| 5. |
The
composted material is emptied
from the digester and screened
to size. |
| 6. |
The
compost is transferred to the
completed product storage pile
or mixed with other materials
to make the various product lines. |
| 7. |
Finally,
the completed products are delivered
to the customer in bulk or to
our bagging warehouse. |
