Variety:  bin run, variety unknown

Planting date:  fall of 1997, broadcast into the standing sorghum/sudangrass ("Sudax")

Soil type:  Alton gravel (gravely with little silt and clay)

Harvest date:  mid-May for forage, when the crop was just coming out of the boot stage;  August for grain

Vitazyme and Nitromax applications:  Vitazyme at 13 oz/acre sprayed on the plants and soil at spring greenup [Nitromax is another biostimulant.]

Grain Yield:

Nitromax*: 690 lb/acre
Vitazyme: 760 lb/acre
(+10%)
 

Silage Yield:

Nitromax*: 7,640 lb/acre
Vitazyme: 9,860 lb/acre
(+29%)

*A plant biostimulant

Fertilization:  about 15 tons/acre of manure in 1997
